DSNC

The Dubai Scholars News Channel is the first and only form of recording every event in the school. From activities like ‘Reading Week’ for FS to major programs like the Senior BollyRock win and the participation of the school in HMC, everything is covered as per the theme and goal for the broadcast. This not only keeps the students and teachers informed and aware of all that is taking place in our school, it also showcases our activities.

 

DSNC at first was an idea, not at all a serious one, proposed by the English teacher of the 2015-2016 class 9 A batch. We, took the idea lightly and did not initially act on it. But as we commenced on our topic of Report Writing, we realized that a News Channel would be an incredible way of not only applying and testing our knowledge but also be incredulous experience for our class if the end result was how we expected it to be.

 

We began this journey with our teacher Mrs. Starlyn setting up a core team, A team that would be responsible for the entire project and its progress. The core team consisted of 6 members ; Abdullah Zahid , Ahmed Rayyan Abbassi , Farhan Vaheed , Oudad Bin Yousuf Hakim , Rahul Bidappa, Raihan Vaheed and Zoya Ahmed. The core team allotted the students of Class 9 A (2015-2016 batch) their positions and responsibilities. From anchoring to interviewing to editing, each student’s crucial part was completed with the utmost amount of effort and enthusiasm. This year we have taken a step further with DSNC.

 

We now mentor the current year 9 B students, into recording events of the current school year 2016-2017.
